Dear Na Fianna Members,

Congratulations to each and every one of you who represented Abu Dhabi Na Fianna with such distinction over the weekend. Abu Dhabi Na Fianna drew huge acclaim not just in terms of the number of teams participating but also in terms of achievment and indeed off-field antics! Congratulations to the three Na Fianna teams (Ladies’ A and B and Men’s B) who secured silverware and in doing so made Na Fianna the most successful participating Club at the games. Hard luck to the Ladies C team who narrowly lost their final and to the Men’s A team who reached the penultimate stage of the A tournament. Just some points to note for the coming week.

Training
As mentioned over the weekend there will be no training tonight in order to give everyone a well-deserved break. Training will resume in Zayed Sports City on Wednesday at 6.45pm.

Honorable Mention
It may not be good practice to single any single person out but I feel it is necessary on this occasion to do so and to compliment the “Silver Fox” Patrick English. Former President of the GAA, Joe Mc Donagh, made special mention of Pat’s exploits and commitment to ladies football in the capital. The fact that we had three Ladies teams participating (two winning trophies) speaks volumes of the great efforts to which Pat (+Pat Kelly/Ben) have put in with all three ladies teams. I would like to second Joe McDonagh’s words and extend a sincere word of gratitude on behalf of all Na Fianna members to a gentleman and indeed one of Na Fianna’s greatest clubmen. Well done Pat English!!!

Lastly, thanks to everyone for their efforts in making the weekend a great success. I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday night.

Final Note on Halloween Party

Dear Irish Society and Na Fianna Members,

Tickets: This is just a quick email to inform you that there will be tickets on sale for tonight’s Halloween Party from 7.30pm onwards in the Crown Plaza. To date we have sold 150 tickets for what promises to be a great event! Thanks to everyone who has purchased tickets for the event!

Prizes: There will be four prizes awarded tonight-Best Dressed, Most Original Costume and runner up in both these categories. Remember if you’re not dressed up you can’t win!

Raffle: We will also be holding a raffle on the night so do not forget to bring some spare cash. The prize on offer for the raffle will be dinner for two at the Crown Plaza as well as an opportunity to win a return flight to Dublin with our sponsors Etihad Airways. The raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the duration of the meal.

Halloween Fancy Dress Party

Dear Irish Society and Na Fianna Members,

Halloween Party-We are holding a ‘Halloween Fancy Dress Party’ on Thursday 27th October at Crown Plaza, Hamdan St. Abu Dhabi. This is our first time to host such an event and it promises to be a great evening of fun and entertainment. We have managed to secure a great deal for our members from the Crown Plaza. Please double click on the link below to see a detailed flyer of the event.

Box Offices-As you can see from the flyer there will be two box offices where tickets for this event can be purchased. There will be a box office on Tuesday 18th @ Abu Dhabi City Golf Club from 7-9pm and Thursday 20th @ Crown Plaza, Hamdan Street also from 7-9pm. Tickets will also be on sale next Sunday 16th and Wednesday 19th night in training at Zayed Sport’s City.

Memberships- We have two ticket prices

for this event-250 and 300 AED. Only Paid Upmembers can purchase the 250AED tickets. It is possible for people to pay membership at the box office and then purchase the cheaper ticket. We also have a huge number of membership cards to distribute; these can be collected at both box offices. We are still accepting new members so if you have any friends/colleagues who wish to join then please inform them they can join at both box offices.Lastly, the general consensus among our committee is that there will be a huge crowd at this event. We expect 250 or so people to attend so purchase your ticket at the earliest to avoid disappointment !!! Any members who wish to stay in the Crown Plaza on the night can contact them and receive a special discount on room rates!
